Nigeria: Pregnant Woman Shoots Man Dead

Enugu — A 27-year-old woman, with eight months pregnancy, has allegedly shot and killed a man identified as Mr. Aaron Odigie in Nsukka over what was described as a mild argument.

She and her husband are being detained.

The late Odigie, who hailed from Edo State, was until the incident a worker with Jonatex, a photo company in Nsukka.

The General Manager of Jonatex, Mr. Benjamin Ilo, said the woman, who hails from Delta State, but married to an Anambra State husband, went home to take the gun allegedly belonging to her husband, went to the second floor at 252, Enugu Road and shot her victim on the head.

Another eye witness said Mr. Peter Adetunji said Odigie's co-worker said his slain colleague had visited him that fateful day (Thursday) and that it was in his room the woman shot her victim.

"Odigie came to my room about 2p.m and we as usual, stayed and chatted till about 4p.m when I wanted to go to work. Aaron had a bike and he kept it downstairs. At a time, we saw that his bike had been pushed down so he went down and warned the children playing around it.

"The woman got angry when her dog was approaching Odigie and my friend told her to hold her dog. She got angry and Odigie said shuo, you no go hold your dog? She first ordered the dog to bite me before asking my friend to wait for her that she was coming.
