Uganda: Lra Kill Driver, Abduct 2 in Kitido

Kampala — The Lords Resistance Army rebels recently shot dead a Morulem Catholic mission driver in Kotido district.

The rebels also burnt to ashes the Toyota land cruiser which belonged to the mission and abducted two workers in an early morning attack near Adwari corner, Lira district.

The whereabouts of the Mission's accountant, Ben Michael and the technician, Paulino, were by yesterday still un-known.

Lira resident district commissioner Charles Egou Engwau said the UPDF soldiers who were about 400m from the scene, repulsed the rebels Engwau, however, said the two people believed to have been abducted could have fled elsewhere to safety.
