Uganda: Displaced Apac Residents Back Home

Kampala — Most of the population of Otwal sub-county in Apac district who fled their homes when rebels of the Lords Resistance Army (LRA) of Joseph Kony attacked the area have gone back to their home villages.

The resident district commissioner, Drani Dradriga, told The New Vision on Friday that most of the residents of Otwal sub-county returned to their homes following improved security in that part of the district.

Dradriga said over 30 people were killed and over 100 huts burnt when the LRA rebels raided Otwal sub-county, in the past displacing over 10,000 people in the area.
