Mozambique: Cardoso Murder: President's Son to Be Questioned

Maputo — Nyimpine Chissano, the businessman son of Mozambican President Joaquim Chissano, is to be questioned in connection with the murder of Mozambique's best-known journalist, Carlos Cardoso, on 22 November 2000.

Six people have been charged with the murder, and the trial should start later this month - even though the man whom the prosecution says organised the hit squad, Anibal dos Santos Junior ("Anibalzinho"), was mysteriously freed from the Maputo top security prison on 1 September, and has fled the country.
