An American living in Ethiopia last week donated diabetic supplies worth over 234,000 birr to the Diabetic Association of Ethiopia.
On the occasion of the celebrations of the National Diabetes Day in Addis Ababa, Dr. Sheila Nutt and her husband, Dr. Mekonnen Meshesha presented the donations of needles, blood testing glucometers and strips, ketone testing strips, lancet devices and lancets.
The donors also pledged to provide the much-needed human insulin once the Diabetic Association of Ethiopia fulfilled the necessary requirements, it was learnt.
The gathering on the occasion exchanged information on diabetes and useful strategies for diabetics and how to control the disease to prevent dangerous complications.
