Monrovia — Vice President Moses Z. Blah has requested international support for thousands of returnees and refugees fleeing fighting in neighbouring Ivory Coast.
Vice President Blah reportedly said this at the Liberian-Ivorian borders to acquaint himself with humanitarian situations there.
At Butuo, Karnplay, Gborplay and Loguatuo, Vice President Blah lamented that if immediate action is not taken to address the humanitarian concerns, the plight of the thousands of returnees and refugees would further deteriorate.
The Vice president told the returnees and refugees that President Charles Taylor was concern about their situation, and that the Government has put together a food package and other immediate emergency relief items to be delivered soon.
