Angola: Roberto De Almeida Analyses Relations Strengthening With Visiting Cuban Governor

Luanda — The strengthening of relations between Angola and Cuba was in the agenda of Thursday's meeting that Angola's Parliament Speaker, Roberto de Almeida, held with the member of the Cuba Communist Party (PCC) and of the State Council, Jose Ramon Balaguer Cabrera.

At the end of the session, the Cuban leader said that he had informed to the Speaker of the Angolan Parliament about the present situation in the caribbean island, "its difficulties and pressures from the United States Government".

Meanwhile, Jose Ramon Balaguer found out about the Angola peace process, as well as the perspectives of the parliamentary co-operation's strengthening between the two countries.

The delegation of the Cuba's Communist Party (PCC) arrived in Luanda, on Thursday for a 3-day official visit, with the objective to strengthen the relations with the Angolan ruling party, MPLA.

On Thursday morning, the delegation met also the Chief of Staff of the Angola Armed Forces (FAA), general Armando da Cruz Neto.

The official meeting between the delegation from Cuba and the MPLA, is scheduled to take place on Thursday afternoon, following a meeting with the members of the Association of Friendship Angola-Cuba and with the commitee of the "Empire's Five Prisoners Heroes".

The visiting's programme of the CCP delegation, whom their return to Cuba is expected for Saturday, through South Africa, include the deposition of wreath of flowers on the monument of the Angola first president, the late Dr Antonio Agostinho Neto, at the Independence Square.
