Angola: Uige: Seventeen People Die of Malaria At Maquela Hospital

Uige — Seventeen people died of Malaria and intense diarrhoea during the last 30 days at Maquela do Zombo's municipal hospital, 255 kilometers to the north of Uige city, in northern Uige province, said the local Deputy Administrator assistante, Frederico Antonio.

The officer said the hospital has the capacity to admit 244 patients, assist 50 daily on general medicine, but currently not even a single Doctor is working there.

Only eight nurses and 20 health technicals are ensuring the hospital's functioning.

The Hospital counts with the support of the non-governmental organisation "Acþao Humanitaria para Africa".
