Nairobi — Recent eruption of violence after the December 27 peaceful elections is
a cause of concern for many Kenyans.
A few days ago a banned sect massacred 23 residents in Nakuru town, 170
kilometres north of the capital, Nairobi. On Monday evening (January 20,
2003) members of the same sect calling itself, 'Mungiki, were said to
have slashed six people in Nairobi's City Centre area, queuing to catch
transport home from work.
