Kenya: Nuncio to Ordain New Bishop for Ngong Diocese

Nairobi — The bishop-elect for the Catholic Diocese of Ngong, Rt Rev Cornelius Schilder, 62, will be ordained on Saturday, January 25, 2003. The Pope, John Paul II, appointed him bishop on November 23, 2002. He was at the time of his appointment the Regional Representative (East African) of the Mill Hill Missionaries (MHM), the congregation to which he belongs.

The Episcopal ordination ceremony, to be held at Watakatifu Wote Senta in Ngong, will be presided over by the Apostolic Nuncio to Kenya, His Excellency Archbishop Giovanni Tonucci. The Nuncio will be assisted by Archbishop John Njue, Chairman of the Kenya Episcopal Conference.
