Nigeria: Kwankwaso Reaffirms Commitment to Sharia

Gov. Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano has reaffirmed the determination of his government to ensure the full implementation of Sharia in the state.

Kwankwaso, gave the indication while swearing-in the state acting grand Khadi, Alhaji Dahiru Rabiu and the local government caretaker committee chairmen of Kura, Garu Mallam and Kano Municipal council.

He said that the success recorded in the implementation of Sharia in the state was due to

The loyalty and commitment of the Khadis, Ulamas, Elders and members of the public.

Kwankwaso called on the appointees to carry out their duties diligently for the benefit of the people they were appointed to service.

Responding on behalf of the others, the acting Grand Khadi, Khadi Dahiru Rabiu thanked the governor for their appointment and assured that they would work to justify the confidence reposed in them.

Rabiu takes over from Khadi Auwalu Minjibir, who retired last year.

The committee chairmen sworn-in were Ibrahim Aminu, Isyaku Mukhtari Kura and Mudadiru Dakasoys. (NAN)
