Nigeria: 2001 Kano Flood Victims Suffer Neglect

About ten thousand families affected by the 2001 flood disaster in Kano State are still in their refugee camp at Sabon Garin Dau near Wudil despite over 100 million naira received by the state government as donation from spirited individuals and organisation.

Kano Trust investigations at Wudil refugee camp where men, women, children and the aged are sheltered revealed that between two to fire people die at the camp monthly as a result of poor sanitary condition, lack of health facilities and diseases.
