Nigeria: NSE Receives Award for Internet Stock Trading in Africa

Efforts by the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) in contributing to the development of stock market in the year 2002 were widely recognized with the Geneva- based Nigerian Economic Development Forum honouring the Exchange with an award for pioneering Internet stock trading in Africa.

The Director General of the NSE, Dr. (Mrs) Ndi Okereke Onyiuke who revealed this, said that the Exchange has come a long way in promoting the stock market , adding that the award was followed with the nomination of their on-line stock monitoring system by the America-based computer world for inclusion in "A search for New Heroes", the on-line Archive of the Computerworld Honours Programme, and in the permanent research collections of its affiliated Academic Council.
