Johannesburg — In today's interconnected world we've become so wired - and wireless - that we hardly notice how much our lives have changed. Even though we're certainly not where futuristic movies from the 1980s predicted the world would be, we've definitely come a long way.

Undeniably we're long past the point at which we started sending more e-mails than letters, or quickly phoning home from the grocery store to check whether there's any milk and bread left.
