The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has disclosed that the Nigerian troops to be deployed to Cote d'Ivoire to ensure the full implementation of peace agreement reached between President Laurent Gbagbo and the rebels would only assist in the areas of health and communication.
Alhaji Sule observed that since Nigerian soldiers are still participating in another peace-keeping operation in Sierra Leone, the ones to be sent to Cote de'Ivoire would be restricted to the areas of communication and health.
