Nigeria: We Don't Have Confidence in Federal Capital Territory VIOs -NURTW President

Even as the Directorate of Road Traffic Service (VIO) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has sat with FCT branch of the Nigeria Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) to resolve their disputes as well as bring members to accept the need to comply with laid down traffic regulations, the national president of the Union Alh. Gidado Hamman still threw more darts on the activities of the vehicle inspection officers.

In a chat with newsmen in Abuja, the union's scribe said, "We don't have confidence going to VIO for any problem. Their men don't have respect for anybody, they are not police, no human relations", adding that the proposed Monday strike action which was later suspended, had his blessings on grounds that the union which he heads had been pushed to the wall, having exhausted all avenues of dialogue with the constituted authorities.
