Nigeria: Shocker As Clubs Reject Globacom Deal

EVEN with the assurance given by Globacom that it remains committed to the newly introduced premier league in Nigeria, the club owners in the country yesterday said they have rejected the communications giant as the sponsor for the 2003 league season. The group said they will regcognise the league as 2003 Nigeria premier league.

The club owners' decision, Sports Vanguard gathered was coming after the body rose from a full house meeting held on Wednesday to discuss the future of Nigerian football.
