Lagos — Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Hashidu, has criticised the Federal Government for abruptly stopping the exploration of oil in the Chad Basin and Benue Trough. Hashidu said the sudden stoppage made it difficult to ascertain whether there was oil in the Northern part of the country.
He said since oil had been discovered in the Chad and Cameroun, oil exploration in the Northern part of the country ought not to have been stopped.
