Nigeria: Lagos Govt Restructures to Give New Dep-Gov Portfolio

Lagos — Lagos State Government has assigned the newly-appointed deputy governor, Mr Olufemi Pedro, a portfolio in a restructuring announced yesterday, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported.

The deputy governor is to supervise the Ministries of Commerce, Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Relations, Environment and Physical Planning, Establishment, Pensions and Training as well as the Parastatals' Monitoring office. Pedro, who was sworn in on January 14, 2003 replaced Mrs Kofoworola Bucknor-Akerele, who decamped from the Alliance for Democracy (AD) and resigned as deputy governor.
