Luanda — The second vice-president of the World Blind People Union (WBU), Mr William Rowland, left Luanda, Friday after participating in the International Human Rights and Physically and Mentally challenged people meeting.
William Rowland was in Angola since Wednesday, has considered that the fact that the country is in peace, recently achieved, show a great challenge, from there advantages should be taken so that some favourable laws are adopted to carrier of deficiencies.
At the opening of the seminar, the Angolan parliament speaker, Mr Roberto de Almeida, criticised every and any discrimination act of the deficiency carriers and called for everyone attention for observance of the presupposed moulded in the subject about Universal Declaration of Human rights.
Roberto de Almeida stated that the aim of the meeting was to respond a resolution a summit of Heads of States of the then OUA, now AU, held in July 2002, in Lome, Togo.
At this meeting was legally declared the period 2000 and 2009 as the decade for the solution of problems affecting the handicapped people.
