Ghana: Students Demand Increase in Loans

Accra — The National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) has expressed anger at the price increase in fuel and is demanding a 50 per cent increase in student loans to compensate for the massive hike in fuel prices.

NUGS president, Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, said at an emergency press conference on Thursday that the student population was now under additional financial pressure due to the inevitable rise in the price of transport, materials and even fees.
