Kampala — A TIGHT security by the Military Police and Prisons personnel yesterday moved in at a city court as two Teso politicians, a CAA engineer and a retired UPDF soldier appeared for mention of a treason case against them.
Some of the security personnel, donning red berets and brandishing AK47 rifles were perched the truck that drove the suspects to the Buganda Road Court premises at breakneck speed.
They jumped off the truck before it stopped and took positions around the court compound.
The suspects, who have complained to Parliament that they were being tortured, are Charles Ekemu, Francis Ogwang, Lt. Dan Mugarura and Pascal Gakyaro.
The case comes up again for mention on April 21.
Intelligence agencies have linked them to the rebel Peoples Redemption Army (PRA) of Kyakabale and Samson Mande.
