Ghana: AGI Targets International Standards

Accra — Ask any Ghanaian why he/she will not buy made-in-Ghana goods and the reasons range from poor packaging, poor labeling and poor quality.

The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) agrees that its members have a lot of catching up to do by way of quality of their products, packing and labeling. That aside, AGI's President, Mrs. Elizabeth Joyce Villars thinks the low patronage of made-in- Ghana goods is an attitudinal problem. Mrs. Villars suggests an intensive programme to change the mindset of Ghanaians to support local industries.
