Kampala — ANNUAL headline inflation, (the rise in the prices of goods) topped 8.5% in March. This is a three year high Bank of Uganda (BOU) said last Thursday.
Since September 2002, annual headline inflation, including prices for volatile items like food and energy, has been rising. However between February and March the rate jumped by almost a percentage point from 7.6% to 8.5%.
