Uganda: Rwandan Troops Leave Border

Kampala — The Kabale LC5 chairman, Adison Kakuru, has said the Rwanda army was withdrawing its troops from the Uganda border.

Kakuru (right) said this on Tuesday while addressing a full council session on the security situation in the district, in respect to the border where Rwandan troops were deployed early this year.

"The Uganda-Rwanda border is calm despite deployment of Rwandan forces there sometime back which had caused panic," Kakuru said.

He said they had raised the matter of their security to the president who assured them that the situation was under control.

He, however, expressed concern over increased crime due to land pressures and marijuana.
