Nairobi — The Government said yesterday it received inquiries from individuals concerning warnings of a possible terrorist attack.
In a statement to the Press issued from Police Headquarters, Commissioner of Police Mr E J Nyaseda said that whereas the pieces of information or messages have not been authenticated, the Kenya Police has put in place all necessary security precautions in the country. Nyaseda said police are trying to establish the authenticity of the unconfirmed messages, which continue being dissemination through the Short Messages Services (SMS) on mobile phones.
He said that so far, police have no information of any unusual happening or incident in the country. He, however, assured all persons in Kenya and those with interests in here that there is no cause for alarm because security measures are in place.
