Angola: Malaria Kills 87 People This Year

Namibe — At least 87 people died of malaria between January and March this year in Angola's southwestern Namibe province out of 8.564 patients registered by the provincial department of public health.

The information was released to Angop on Tuesday by the local health supervisor, José António.

He said Namibe is in dire need of medicines as the stocks have exhausted.

In the same period in 2002, the public health department recorded 2.191 cases of malaria.
