The All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) has vowed to mobilise people of Nigeria against attempt by the ruling PDP government to increase the pump price of fuel under whatever guise.
The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Nnamdi Olebara, who made the party's position known in an interview with Daily Trust in Abuja, warned that increase in fuel price was a big time-bomb which the government of Obasanjo would not survive.
"ANPP is not surprise that the PDP government which lacked moral fortrightness is desirious of misappropriate power to force a hike in fuel price at this time when the nation was facing socio-economic and political uncertainties," he said.
Nnamdi Olebara warned: "We of the ANPP join all well-meaning Nigerians, not the double-face sychophants to reject any open or secret hike in price of fuel. Nigerians have suffered enough."
The ANPP national scribe noted that the NLC leadership was justified in warning against fuel price hike in view of its devastating effect on the general over-view of the economy, adding however: "Let the NLC be its own judge as the events unfold around the PDP federal government."
Olebara maintained that ANPP had never at any time, intended to be violent and would not be violent in its desire to provide an alternative government, saying that the party would remain steadfast in this direction.
"The truth remain that ANPP has not shifted ground concerning its mandate that PDP openly stole. The masses of Nigeria have not given up the mandate they gave to ANPP. We will constantly and consistently oppose any form of illegality and unconstitutionality," he said, adding: "ANPP is a party built on solid moral foundation, people's will and desire. We are party that is prepared to make Nigeria greater, that it is and which believes in a better tomorrow for our children."
Olebara stressed that the party would remain focused irrespective of how the various electoral cases in the courts were disposed of.
"ANPP is a viable and credible alternative government; the new hope for a sane society," he said.
