Cameroon: National Medals Award : 190 Staff Of The Presidency Honoured

The SG at the Presidency, Jean-Marie Atangana Mebara, presided at the ceremony in the presence of the Grand Chancellor of National Ordors.

The Minister of State, Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic, Jean-Marie Atangana Mebara, yesterday, at the Unity Palace, presided over the award of 191 medals to meritorious staff of the presidential palace. The ceremony took place in the presence of the Grand Chancellor of the National Orders, Willie Ndep Orock Effiom. The Minister of State, Secretary General at the Presidency was assisted by the Minister Delegate of the Presidency in charge of Relations with the Assemblies, Grégoire Owona and three Ministers in charge of Special duties at the presidency of the Republic. These were : Messrs Justin Ndioro, Elvis Ngolle Ngolle and Henry Kibuh.

Prominent among the medal recipients yesterday at State House were Musonge Isaac Jackaï, technical adviser at the Presidency and two State House senior security operatives - Colonel Hollong Etienne and Captain Lang Anthony. All three of them were made Commander of the national order of valour. Also prominent on the honour's list for this year were the Director of State Protocol, Awono Essama Dominique; the newly appointed Assistant SG at the National Assembly, Fonkam Azu'u Samuel, Bouba Ndengue Dieudonné and Noah Ntsang Raymond who all received medals of "Officer of the National Order of Valour".

In all, 3300 Cameroonians were awarded national honour medals this year on the occasion of the National Day. Out of the 191 medals awarded yesterday to meritorious staff of the Presidency of the Republic, 120 were national order awards while 71 were either labour, sports or armed forces medals. As usual the spouses and family friends of the recipients were invited to grace the occasion which definitely continued with feasting in the respective residencies of those honoured.
