Uganda: Police Holds Arsonists

Kampala — SEETA Police in Mukono have arrested three suspected arsonists who set ablaze two buildings at Hare Krishna Farm School in Lumuli village, Goma sub-county, Mukono district, on Friday, writes Raymond Baguma.

Rioters set fire on the school buildings following the death of a pupil who was beheaded in a suspected ritual murder at the school premises.

Fred Mutale, an employee of the school, was lynched by the residents. Mutale reportedly beheaded and cut off the private parts a six-year-old pupil, Salim Mpiima in a room at the school.

"We have arrested three suspects and we shall charge them with arson, malicious damage to property and inciting violence," the officer-in-charge, Moses Mutabingwa, said.

The arrested men are Hamis Senjala, 25, a student of Silver Springs catering Institute in Mbuya and Isma Mpiima, 19, a student of Mbuya Army Secondary School. The other suspect is Fred Nsambwe, 27, a bricklayer of Gwafu village in Mukono district.
