Nigeria: Rep Faults Delay in Completion of Zobe Dam

Katsina — Two-times executive director of Katsina State Water Board and new member, Water Resources Committee in the House of Representatives, Hon. Dr. Ishaq Kurbi has identified lack focus and direction as major obstacles hindering the completion of Zobe Dam projects in Katsina State.

Hon. Ishaq Kurbi, said Zobe which is one of the largest bodies of water in Nigeria was commissioned since 1982, with a components of irrigating over 700,000 hectares is now lying wasted because the consulting firm then (enplane) had not done adequate homework in both the strategy and cost despite a colossal sum of over 500 million released as at then for the project.
