Monrovia — The money in question was presented to officials of the Liberia For Jesus Crusade during a prayer rally held at the Samuel Kanyon Sports Complex on July 26.
When Rev. Paul presented the check, he said the money was intended to cater for the humanitarian needs of internally displaced persons.
Former President Charles Taylor attended the rally at the time the check was presented to officials of LFJ.
However, barely two months following the presentation of the checks, executives and other officials of the LFJ have declined to disclose the name of the local bank in which the check is being deposited.
LFJ President, Rev. Jimmy Dugbe has been tight-lipped when asked by reporters.
An executive of the LFJ, Rev. Korto Brown, has also declined to comment on the matter, saying that the issue would be addressed later.
Bishop Josiah Pah, an official of the organization, said it was necessary that the LFJ breaks silence over the development to avoid speculations.
Meanwhile, an executive committee meeting of the LFJ is scheduled to convene on tomorrow in Monrovia.
A member of the clergy who spoke to this Paper on the basis on anonymity, said media reports surrounding the money appear to have increased pressure on executives and officials of the LFJ, for which the meeting tomorrow is being scheduled.
