ZAMPOST has finished its restructuring process in terms of operations and has reduced its workforce by 240.
Postmaster-General Chewe Lupili, said this at the official opening of the managers meeting which was held at Nsobe Camp to evaluate the corporation's operations, performance and quality of services being provided.
Mr Lupili said that due to liberalisation of the postal market, competition had become stiff as new players joined the market and that it was important to take advantage of technology in order to diversify and make money.
He said that in a competitive market only those that could compete favourably would survive and that Zampost would take the competition as a challenge and not a threat.
He said the corporation had recently experienced a lot of changes including the establishment of new business centres, bureaux, and the Western Union money transfer facility at all of its major post offices.
