Kenya: Insurer Day's Best Mover

Nairobi — Pan Africa Insurance was the day's biggest mover with 238,000 shares dealt at between Sh24 and Sh24.75.

The financial sector was the busiest counter with 583,000 shares which accounted for 52.15 per cent of the day's trading.

The industrial sector moved 238,000 shares contributing for 26.81 per cent while the commercials sold 87,000 shares which represented 7.78 per cent of the total volume.

Turnover at the Nairobi Stock Exchange was on the increase standing at Sh57 million up from previous Sh51 million.

However, the number of shares traded went down by 31 per cent to settle at 1.1 million down from 1.6 million shares dealt on Wednesday.

Kenya Airways moved 74,000 shares at Sh7.75 while Nation Media Group sold 3,000 shares at a stable price of Sh176.

Mumias Sugar was the second biggest mover with 122,000 shares changing hands at between Sh4.50 and Sh4.55.

Athi River Mining slid to Sh21.75 for 74,000 shares.

Rea Vipingo was unmoved at Sh5.40 for 147,000 shares in an agricultural sector that contributed 13.26 per cent of yesterday's volume.
