Nigeria: Okocha is Premiership Player of the Month, Future in Bolton Uncertain

Bolton boss Sam Allardyce and captain Jay Jay Okocha have picked up November's Barclaycard Manager and Player of the Month awards. The Trotters collected an impressive 10 points from a possible 12 during November, including away wins against Tottenham and Leeds. Okocha failed to score during that period but was instrumental in helping the club to 10th in the Premiership at the end of the month. Okocha, meanwhile, has admitted that he is unclear as to his future plans.

He will be free to talk to other clubs next month - when he is away on Africa Nations Cup duty - as his contract runs out in the summer. While stating he could be ready to extend his deal at Bolton, the Nigerian captain added: "My door is always open." Okocha's tricks and flicks have lit up the Premiership and he has been linked to a number of top teams. Allardyce, however, claims he would resist any offers as the cash would only be used to service their debt. Okocha said:
