Nairobi — THE TANZANIA government has allowed the Tanzania Cigarette Company, the
country's only cigarette-making firm, to continue advertising its products
on huge billboards across the country as long as it places warnings on the
dangers that could befall users.
This comes in the wake of aggressive lobbying by TCC. In most countries
of the world, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO), billboard
adverts have been the first target in the fight against smoking.
