Algerians signed accords with two business structures in Yaounde yesterday.
An Algerian business delegation, yesterday signed a bilateral trade accord with the Cameroon Chambers of Commerce and SAFRIC Enterprises. The accords were signed at the Conference hall of the Ministry of Trade and Comercial Development. The first allows both parties to seek and exchange business information and technical know-how. The second which cemented business relationship between the same delegation and SAFRIC Enterprises, managed by Hon Fossi Jacob, ( First Vice President at the National Assembly) also allows for bilateral cooperation in the domain of capacity building and exchange of vital information.
According to Hon Fossi, the partnership is a giant stride for both Cameroonian and Algerian businessmen because it does not only benefit businessmen but further strengthen the economic and diplomatic ties of both nations. The government of Cameroon, he noted, has for the past years laid emphasis on poverty alleviation and the protection of consumers by industrialists. He said by exchanging information and know-how both partners will improve on these aspects. He said it is in line with this that the private sector has been liberalized and many international conventions signed by the government. Such initiative, he added, is basically in line with the Breton Wood, the European Union and the CEMAC principles. These accords also allow Cameroon to contribute its own quota to the global village. He urged the Ministry of Trade and Commercial to ignite a free trade competitions between the private and the public sectors and remain a referee.
