Abuja — The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has charged the Nigerian Police to speed up efforts at unraveling those behind the murder of late Miss Sussana Igwe a lawyer who until January 1, when she was murdered, was a legal practitioner in charge of the Legal department of National Electric Power Authority (NEPA) Abuja.
NBA in a letter signed by Chief J. K Gadzama (SAN) and Chief Jude Okeke Chairman NBA and Chairman, Human Rights Committee, NBA dated January 12, and made available to THISDAY states that enquiry from the Association "regarding steps being taken by the Police to ensure the perpetrators of the dastardly act are brought to book" reveal that the Police has reached an advanced stage on that case.
NBA in the latter addressed to the Commissioner of Police NBA, however, promised to assist the police, but implored the Police not to relent until the culprits are brought to book.
The full text reads; "Our attention has been drawn to the to the murder on Thursday January 1, of the above named person who until her death was a legal Practitioner in charge of the Legal Department of National Electric Power Authority (NEPA) Abuja.
"As a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Abuja, we were constrained to make enquiries regarding steps being taken by the Police to ensure the perpetrators of the dastardly act are brought to book and were duly informed that Police investigation into the matter has reached an advanced stage.
