Nigeria: Hp Linux Road-Show in Lagos

Lagos — HEWLETT-Packard (HP) Nigeria in association with Novell Africa is organizing a one-day Linux road-show in Lagos.

The road-show is to further create awareness on the use and deployment of Suse Linux by the Information Technology (IT) community in the country.

This is another step in strengthening the relationship between the two firms, especially in expanding and offering Linux from the desktop to the datacenter.

General Manager of Novell Africa Limited, Mr. Graham Hallworth who disclosed this to Champion Infotel at the weekend said the date for the road-show, slated for the Fortune Hall, Golden Gate, Ikoyi-Lagos, is Wednesday, May 19.

The event tagged "HP Linux road-show," Mr. Hallworth said, has been on tour of Europe and some parts of Africa including Ghana, since last November and "now it is Nigeria's turn".

He also said that apart from HP, other software and industry giants such as Oracle, SAP, Sendmail as well as Novell would be at hand with its Suse Linux.

The event, he said, would be to show case what Linux can do for the enterprise world.

Mr. Hallworth stressed that participants, however, had to register with HP Nigeria's consultantm.
