Angola: Benguela: Government to Build 30 Class Rooms By 2006

Benguela — The provincial government of the southwestern Benguela province will invest 350.000 US Dollars in the construction of 30 class rooms, in Balombo municipality, in the ambit of the Public Investiments Programme (PIP).

According to the governor of Benguela, Dumilde Rangel, who last Friday was visited Balombo, the referred project involves the construction of 15 class rooms, next year, and the remainder in 2006.

The PIP project also includes the construction of a pre-university school aiming at continual training of students in that municipality.

"We want to create, in this municipality, conditions so that the students may not interrupt their training for lack of secondary schools", he said.

At present, some 200 students in Balombo are awaiting for the opening of the pre-university school to carry on their studies.
