Angola: Moxico: Over 150.000 Children to Be Vaccinated Against Polio

Lwena — Some 150.368 children aged between zero and four years will be vaccinated against poliomyelitis and another 97.833 will receives vitamin A from July to August 2004, in Angola's eastern Moxico province, an official source announced.

These figures were obtained at the end of an inter-provincial seminar on micro-planning of the national vaccination campaign, attended by 24 health technicians.

For the two planned phases (July 23-25 and August 20-22), 940 activists will be involved, grouped in 339 teams.

The five-day seminar has recommended the intensification of routine vaccination in the districts and the updating on the norms of the Mass Vaccination Programme (PAV).
