ZAMBIA Cricket Union (ZCU) development director, Saidi Malama is satisfied with preparations and the state of the grounds earmarked for next month's Africa Cup championships in Lusaka.
Malama who is also Zambia coach said in Lusaka yesterday that the grounds were superb and Lusaka south cricket ground would host five matches while four would be staged at Metropolitan grounds.
Other matches have been slated for Lotus and two at Centrals.
Malama also said he would trim the squad this week with the final contingent going into the rigorous stage of training.
"Chances are still there to win this championship and present ourselves to the World Cup in the West Indies in 2007. You are all aware that the youngsters especially from the Potch Boys are exposed to international matches and are experienced players.
"I am sure the boys will not disappoint me, the union and the nation at large and they will put up the best performance no doubt about that. Zambia will be among the top two, that I can assure you," Malama promised.
He commended all the players for their good performance and urged them to be at their best behaviour as the selectors would only pick on the best players.
Malama also appealed to the business community to help ZCU host the tournament successfully through material and financial support.
