Uganda: Water Expands Supply Grid

Henry Mukasa

20 July 2004

Kampala — NATIONAL Water and Sewerage Corporation has expanded its supply grid with the launch of the Greater Entebbe Water Partnership, a water supply project for Katabi sub-county.

The sh500m-project was launched by President Yoweri Museveni at Nkumba Primary School in Wakiso district on Friday.

Museveni said the Government had worked on a long-term national plan to extend piped water and electricity to all parts of the country.

He, however, said the expansion would be gradual in accordance with the plan and capacity of the Government and implementing institutions.

Museveni said Katabi would have got water long ago but missed out like many other areas because of 'poor leadership.'
