Monrovia — The head coach of Liberia's National Soccer Team Kadala Kromah, has recommended that James Salinsa Debbah, one of the nation's most celebrated players retire from the Lone Star "gracefully" rather than "disgracefully"
In an interview Tuesday, the Lone Star coach disclosed that Salansa's graceful retirement from the national team was one of several recommendations submitted to authorities of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) recently following the Liberia-Togo match in which Salansa initially refused to leave the pitch.
Debbah, captaining the team at the time, had refused to leave the pitch after he was called to be substituted by the technical staff during the second half of the disappointing scoreless encounter.
Dabbeh's behavior was met with strong reactions from most of the thousands of spectators as well as those monitoring the match on radio.
As a result, Coach Kromah was requested to recommend to the LFA possible actions against the Liberian International who had immensely contributed to Lone Star for nearly two decades.
"I have submitted my recommendations to the LFA and it is now left with them to start off from there", the coach stated.
But Debbah later regretted his action on the BBC and blamed the technical staff for doing little to ensure victory for the team.
He told the BBC during the interview that age was not his problem and that he was currently the highest scorer on his team.
Meanwhile, coach Kromah assured that he would recruit and make the best selection to produce the best results for the remaining matches of the Nation's Cup and World Cup qualifiers.
