Namibia: Demons Still Attacking Etunda School

Ongwediva — THE situation of alleged demon attacks at Etunda Com-bined School near Ruacana in the Omusati Region is improving following the arrival of a missionary pastor from Keetmanshoop at the school last month.

School principal Eunice Shanghala confirmed this to Nampa in an interview yesterday.

Teachers and pupils at the school, Shanghala claimed, have been suffering demon attacks in the form of donkeys being seen entering classrooms, mysterious animals being found half-dead there and blood samples being spilt all over the school classrooms since 1998.

She pointed out that the situation had become worse since last year.

Shanghala said four teachers died as a result of the alleged demon attacks during the past six years while the last one, Natalia Muaya, died in April this year.

Other sources from the school alleged that the demons also killed four and three school children last year and this year, respectively.

"Some of our teachers arrive healthy at the school just to become sick while teaching the children," Shanghala claimed, adding that this has affected most of the teachers at the school.

She noted that the conducting of a prayer meeting by Missionary Pastor of the Faith Ministry Church at Keetmanshoop, Chris Gallant, had resulted in an improvement of the situation.

Gallant is still at the school monitoring the situation. However, Shanghala indicated that the fear of demon attacks still exists among the school community.

The Council of Churches in Namibia (CCN) delegation under the leadership of its secretary general, Reverend Nangula Kathindi, also visited the school and conducted a prayer there last Sunday.

The CCN delegation shot down allegations that it was witchcraft that is haunting teachers and pupils at the school. The delegation believes it is the demons
