Lagos — UNICEF in collaboration with the National Immunisation Programme Agency (NIPA) sensitizes media and Non Governmental Organization, NGOs, on the gains of Polio eradication in Nigeria. ERNEST OMOARELOJIE hen the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI), suffered a hitch recently, not many people realized the dangers it portended to vulnerable children across Nigeria and beyond.

Although the result is no longer a secret, it is, however, too worrisome to be treated lightly. This apart, the intense concentration and prevalence of the virus in certain parts of the country is a stumbling block to planned global eradication process.
