Furthermore, the defining moment for the knock out stage still rages as teams continue to put up their final resistance to stay in the competition or be obscured. One such bitter encounter was between Banjulinding FC and Banjul International Airport (BIA) team.
In the 34 minutes of play, the Banjulinding striker Lamin Darboe (Smart) broke loose from a counter attack to net their first goal. Then persistent pressure began mounting on their defence and Abdul Kujabi saw it as serious, so he targeted BIA goal from the midfield and scored their second goal.
In the second half, things altered for Banjulinding FC as most of their passes were bad and BIA took advantage of this opportunity to make some spectacular passes and dribbles. However, this was enough to give them a penalty which was quickly converted into a goal by Ebou Ceesay in the 65th minute.
Further pressure and changes was futile as Banjulinding FC cemented their defence to the close of the match. It therefore ended in 2 -1 in favour of Banjulinding FC.
