-Minister Gonyon Alleges

It seems that the hubbub between Mandingoes and the Gios and Manos in Nimba is far from ending if information from the county is anything to go back.

Deputy Internal Affairs Minister for Administration, Mr. Jerry Gonyon has alleged that the Manos and Gios in the county are destroying properties belonging to Mandingoes.

He said the Gios and Manos are refusing to accept or welcome their Mandingoes brothers and sisters in the spirit of reconciliation and thereby diminishing their houses, and selling their land and other properties.

The Deputy Minister said their lands have been bought and active constituencies are taken place in a bid to stop the Mandingoes of returning and repossessing their seized properties.

Minister Gonyon further indicated that destruction of Mandingoes properties is currently going on in Kanplay, Ganta, Bahn and Sacleapea cities.

The Chief added that the Superintendent of the County, Mr. Harrison Kanwea is aware of the illegal breaking and selling of the Mandingoes properties.

When contacted the City Mayor of Bahn City Madam Angie Dopoe confirmed the news and she added that the matter was now before the county authorities for judgment.

In a related development, Supt. Kanwea who appeared the Talking Drum Show "One Step Beyond" has halted any new construction in trhe county so as to provide some physical evidence in the breaking and selling of Mandingoes properties.
