Wins The Hearts of Bong Citizens

Reports reaching our news desk says Charles Brumskin has resigned as the standard-bearer of the Liberia Unification Party LUP).

He has been the torchbearer of the party since he returned home from exile more than one year ago.

But the party has been embroiled in an internal wrangle centered around Brumskine. As a result, there is a split within the party.

Brumskine's reported resignation from the party ends the deafening speculations that he would quit.

The development raises the questions as to whether the political heavy weight will form an alliance with another political or go as an independent candidate in the ensuing election.

Cllr. Brumskine announced his resignation yesterday in the provincial city of Gbarnga. Brumskine said he took the decision against the backdrop that the National Elections Commission (NEC) has decided not to allow any party that is in confusion participate in the forthcoming elections.

Meanwhile, Citizens of Bong County have given support to Cllr. Brumskine.
