Lusaka — Zambians Should Fight Racism, Dr. Kenneth Kaunda Has Said.
Speaking during the special assembly to celebrate the country's 40 year's of independence at Lusaka International Community School (LICS), Dr Kaunda said as Zambians celebrated their independence anniversary, there was also great need to fight negative tendencies especially in working places if the nation was to move forward.
Dr Kaunda said among other things, Zambia was born to fight racism.
He commended (LICS) for being a non-racial school.
Dr Kaunda who said it was amazing to celebrate the 40th Independence Anniversary, appealed to Zambians to treat one another as neighbour.
And speaking later in an interview, (LICS) headteacher Steve Weatherell commended Dr Kaunda for gracing the occasion. Weatherell said his school was delighted to celebrate Zambia's 40th Independence Anniversary.
He said pupils at his schools were enjoying peace because of freedom fighters that fought for independence.
Meanwhile, Wearherell said there was need to improve co-operation between private and state schools.
